  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Submit your FAFSA to JCU in order to maximize your financial aid opportunities. (JCU’s FAFSA code is 003050). When you submit your application, you’ll automatically be considered for transfer merit scholarships of up to $22,000 per year.
  • Tuition and Fees:
    Total Estimated Direct Cost: Residential Student $66,910 | $51,960 Non-Residential Student. Annual room & board rates vary. Undergraduate tuition is billed at $1,725/credit hour for part-time students and those enrolled in more than 19 credit hours.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    John Carroll reviews applications for admission holistically. While we do not have a minimum GPA requirement, a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is recommended.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Official transcripts must be mailed or emailed directly to us from each college or university you attended. You only need to submit an official high school transcript if you've completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a college or university.
  • SAT Scores:
    Submitting SAT or ACT scores is optional.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Some students may be asked to complete the Transfer Reference Form based on their previous educational experience.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    As long as students earn a “C” or better in a course, the course will be evaluated for credit at JCU. Courses completed with a “Pass” grade will not be accepted unless it can be established that the “Pass” was the equivalent of a “C” grade or higher.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The limit of transfer credit is 60-semester hours. In no instance will a JCU degree be awarded unless 60 semester hours and at least 50% of the major requirements have been completed at John Carroll.
